Closing the Ring

An epic, yet intimate romantic drama that spans fifty years from wartime Europe, to present day small-town USA. As a crusty old woman (Shirley MacLaine) mourns the passing of her husband, she remembers back to the airman she fell in love with, but lost to the war. Now a relic from the past brings to light a life that might have been. Peter Woodward (son of Edward) wrote the script after hearing a news story about a wedding ring found on Belfast's Cave Hill amid the debris of an old plane crash. Richard Attenborough directs and Neve Campbell, Pete Postlethwaite, Mischa Barton and Christopher Plummer co-star.
