Brideshead Revisited

A fresh take on Evelyn Waugh's classic novel, substantially trimmed down compared to the 11-hour BBC mini-series from 1981, but successfully distilling the essence of the story into this well put together drama that spans a quarter century. An excellent British cast bring this story of class and religion to life with Emma Thompson especially noteworthy as the rigid Lady Marchmain, and Michael Gambon as her estranged husband.
