Man Friday

Daniel Defoe's classic story of survival and heroism takes on a whole new perspective in this action-adventure tour-de-force. Robinson Crusoe is marooned on a beautiful South Seas island with Man Friday. Crusoe declares himself 'master' but Friday, understandably annoyed at this, manages to escape and leaves Crusoe to fend for himself, tormenting him all the while... Both O'Toole and Roundtree turn in entertaining performances in this quirky adaptation of Daniel Defoe's timeless tale of companionship and survival. Director Jack Gold received a nomination for the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival.
