In a time lost to history, when the Gods still walked among us, they sent a warrior to reclaim the mystic gold that has plunged the world into endless battle and bloodshed. This is the story of Siegfried the dragon-slayer (Benno Furmann), his quest for the glory of the gods and the women he is torn between - the warrior Queen of Iceland (Kristanna Loken) and the Princess of Burgund (Alicia Witt). A telling of the Nordic legend that Wagner based his opera on and Tolkein his 'Lord of the Rings', this German-produced fantasy was a hard-sell in the title department (alternatively called 'Curse of the Ring', 'Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King' and 'Ring of the Nibelungs') but easily shows why this tale inspired so many epics.
