Warm Water Under a Red Bridge

Giving a touch of Asian-flavoured 'magic realism' to a premise that almost sounds like adult cinema, Japanese filmmaker Shohei Imamura ('The Eel') tells the story of an unemployed, unhappily married man who sets off in search of a stolen gold Buddha statue. What he finds, though, is even rarer: a woman whose body exudes a rush of water whenever she's nervous or excited...particularly in the throes of passion. Misa Shimizu, Koji Yakusho star.
