The Women
A modern re-telling of George Cukor's classic 1939 film, based on Clare Booth Luce's play. A close-knit group of female friends find their neat suburban world turned upside down when their most envied (Meg Ryan) discovers her husband is having an affair with a ruthless shopgirl (Eva Mendes). An all-star, and exclusively female, cast includes Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith, Bette Midler, Candice Bergen and Carrie Fisher. Long-time 'Murphy Brown' writer (and creator) Diane English makes her big-screen debut with this oestragen-laden comedy-drama.
