Raging Planet: Mysteries of El Nino

El Nino brought about the destruction of the entire Moche tribe of Peru and is regarded by meteorologists as the biggest weather phenomenon on the planet. This programme documents the 1997/98 event from beginning to end, and investigates the breakthrough research conducted by climatologists. This was a unique opportunity for scientists to understand the workings of El Nino and determine ways in which the world can be better prepared for its next strike.
