The Burrowers

A creepy horror/western, set in 1879, as an intrepid community of pioneers find themselves the target of unknown assailants. When a family is mysteriously abducted, a rag-tag group of would-be rescuers set out to get payback on the Native American Indians they believe to be behind it. However, as they too begin to disappear one by one, they realise they are prey to something far more terrifying than humans, and death is the least of their worries. For a genre film, this is beautifully shot and concerns itself with revealing the hearts and minds of its protagonists; several reviewers make comparisons to Terrence Malick, if Terrence Malick had made 'From Dusk Til Dawn'.
