State of Play ( Blu-ray )
An American adaptation of the hit British mini-series starrring Ben Affleck as a rising political star, tipped to be the next presidential nomination for his party. However his career is set to take a downturn when his assistant supposedly jumps in front of a subway train. Hard-nosed reporter Cal McAffrey (Russell Crowe) smells a rat, and with the help of rookie journalist Della (Rachel McAdams) he unearths a dangerous and deep-rooted political conspiracy. A tightly-coiled, edge-of-your-seat thriller with a knock-out cast that also includes Jason Bateman, Robin Wright Penn and Helen Mirren, as McAffrey's ruthless boss.
