A Lady Takes a Chance

When New Yorker Molly Truesdale (Jean Arthur) takes a bus tour of the West, rodeo rider Duke Hudkins (John Wayne) literally falls into her lap. It's love at first sight for Molly and she sets out to catch her cowboy. 'A Lady Takes a Chance' is vintage John Wayne complete with a classic bar-room brawl scene. Co-directed by an uncredited Henry Hathaway who would later direct Wayne in "The Sons of Katie Elder' and 'True Grit', the film which finally saw The Duke pick up an Oscar.
