Muffin the Mule

"Muffin the Mule" was first broadcast on the BBC on October 20th 1946. Originally created in the 1930s by Fred Ticknet for puppeteers Jan Bussell and Ann Hogarth, it was not until 1946 when they were working with presenter Annette Mills (sister of Sir John Mills), that Muffin the Mule was named and used for a television appearance in an edition of "For the Children". Muffin the Mule, with his signature tune "We want Muffin", became Britain's first and most loved TV children's character. Features 14 classic episodes originally broadcast between 1946 and 1955.
