Director Ang Lee detours into comic territory with this true story, based on Elliot Tiber's book, about how he, an in-the-closet Greenwich Village interior designer, helped set the stage for the most iconic rock festival in history. Comedian Demetri Martin makes his feature debut playing Tiber who is trying to help his parents keep their failing motel in the Catskills. After hearing a neighbouring town has refused a permit for a music festival, he calls the Woodstock organisers hoping to drum up business. Three weeks later, half a million people are descending on his neighbour's farm in White Lake, N.Y., and Elliot is swept up in a generation-defining experience that will change his life, and American culture, forever.
