Drag Me to Hell
Sam Raimi returns triumphantly to his horror roots with this camp frightener about a good-hearted Southern girl who attracts a nasty curse. Christine (Alison Lohman) is a loan officer in a bank, and the only way she can secure a promotion is by reluctantly evicting a horrid old gypsy woman who is reneging on her loan. Ipso facto curse. The next three days of Christine's life are a rollercoaster of mucous-spouting, demon-fighting terror. Packed with Raimi's characteristic macabre slapstick, this unforgiving morality tale has gruesome twists and gallows humour in equal measure. Justin Long co-stars, but sadly no Bruce Campbell as his 'Burn Notice' schedule conflicted with shooting.
