Resurrecting the Champ

Josh Hartnett plays sports writer Erik Kernan, who has struck hard times - his writing is dull, his editor won't get off his case, and his marriage is falling apart. When Erik sees a homeless man (Samuel L Jackson) being sadistically beaten by youths, he steps in to help and as fate would have it, the man he saves is apparently none other than boxing legend Battling Bob Satterfield, a man most sports fans had consigned to the grave. Bob's heart-breaking story could be the catalyst to turn both their lives around. Based on true events that happened to journalist J.R. Moehringer and the article he wrote in 1997. Alan Alda and Teri Hatcher co-star.
