Orphan

In the wake of a devastating stillbirth, prospective parents Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John (Peter Sarsgaard) are struggling to keep their marriage together, and Kate is suffering terrible nightmares. They decide to adopt and after visiting a local orphanage they fall for a sweet nine-year-old girl named Esther. However, Esther is not as angelic as she at first seemed, and Kate quickly begins to see through her pretense. As Esther's behaviour escalates from naughty to malicious, Kate's concerns fall on deaf ears as the rest of the family is completely charmed by the young newcomer. Sinister devil-child shenanigans with some genuine scares and a surprisingly bizarre twist.
