Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan tells the story of Simon, a bright young student whose parents were killed in a car crash. Following a conversation with his dying grandfather, Simon comes to believe that the crash was no accident. Meanwhile, Simon's French teacher has presented the class with a translation assignment about a terrorist who placed a bomb in his girlfriend's luggage; Simon tells everyone that the story is about his parents, and as he begins reinventing his life on the internet, things get out of hand. A complex rumination on identity, truth, terrorism and cyberspace, Egoyan's film is part drama, part mystery. Stars Scott Speedman and Rachel Blanchard.
