Bret Easton Ellis ('Less Than Zero', 'American Psycho') adapts his own work for the screen, a characteristically chilling portrait of hedonism gone mad. Set in the 1980s, the action takes place over one week in L.A. with an array of characters representing the top of the food chain - a movie producer, a rock star, a broadcaster - and the bottom - a doorman, a morally bankrupt ex-con. One freak incident will see all their lives intertwining, and for one them, throw into relief the emptiness of the life he's leading. The ensemble cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Winona Ryder, Mickey Rourke, Jon Foster, Rhys Ifans and Brad Renfro in his final film before he died of an accidental heroin overdose.
