Following a divorce that has left him feeling depressed, Robert (Christophe Malavoy) moves into a quiet neighbourhood in the hopes of finding some peace. He soon finds himself spying on his new neighbour (Mathilda May), not in a voyeuristic way, but just to appreciate the calmness of someone whose life appears to be in order. However looks can be deceiving, and when he remarks to her one day that he admires her self-assured contentedness, she begins to wonder if her life isn't too dull. Her fateful decision to shake things up will have dire consequences. Based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith ('The Talented Mr Ripley') and directed by French suspense master Claude Chabrol.
