I Want to Go Home

Alain Resnais, the legendary French director of many groundbreaking films (including 'Hiroshima, Mon Amour' and 'Last Year at Marienbad'), collaborates with American writer/cartoonist Jules Feiffer ('Carnal Knowledge') for this raucous satire of French and American culture. Cleveland cartoonist Joey Wellman, played by 'Singin' in the Rain's' legendary composer Adolph Green, accepts an invitation to show his work at an exclusive Parisian gallery. But his real motivation is his hope to reconcile with his estranged daughter Elsie (Laura Benson), who is trying to rid herself of her American provinciality by emulating the great French intellectual Christian Gaulthier (Gerard Depardieu).
