Louis De Funes ( Mr Leguignon Lampiste / Peek-a-Boo / The Bouncing Beauty / The Big Vacation )

Louis de Funes was one of France's original funnymen, with the rubber-faced prankster hitting his stride in French slapstick comedies of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Four of his comic capers are collected here: the kooky 'Mr Lequignon Lampiste' (1951) in which a family finds a treasure trove in a dilapidated building; risque 'Peek-a-Boo' (1954) where a police officer investigates a theatre show to check for lewd content; crazy 'The Big Vacation' (1967) with a classic tale of young lovers and their disapproving fathers; and hilarious 'The Bouncing Beauty' (1967) about two boat builders with clashing personalities.
