The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

Based on the novel by Rebecca Miller (who also wrote the screenplay and directed), this edgy dramedy stars Robin Wright Penn as the eponymous Pippa, a devoted wife and mother, who, at the age of 50, seems to have everything in life: security, happiness, a brilliant publisher husband 30 years her senior and successful grown-up twins. But when her husband (Alan Arkin) first decides that they should both leave New York and move to a retirement home in Connecticut, and then embarks on an affair with a woman even younger than she is, Pippa finds herself re-assessing her place in the world and quietly spiralling towards a nervous breakdown. Julianne Moore, Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder and Blake Lively co-star.
