Five Corners

Propelled by a complex script (by John Patrick Shanley, "Doubt") and intersecting plotlines, "Five Corners" features superb performances from John Turturro, Jodie Foster and Tim Robbins. In the Bronx neighbourhood of Five Corners, 1964, change is in the air and unrest is in the streets. Two teenage girls are given away to a pair of delinquents; a high school teacher is shot in the back with an arrow on the way to school and a psychotic released from jail (Turturro) returns to stalk the object of his obsession, Linda (Foster). Fearing for her safety, she turns to Harry (Robbins), who previously helped put Heinz in jail. Harry soon finds himself in a morally compromising situation where violence might be the only solution.
