Tropical Malady

Utilizing elements of Thai folklore, this mesmerizing drama examines the love affair between soldier Keng and laborer Tong. Just as the youthful pair begins a tentative relationship, fate rips them apart when Tong mysteriously vanishes. After hearing rumors that his would-be love was transformed into a mythical animal, Keng ventures deep into the jungle to find him. Banlop Lomnoi, Sakda Kaewbuadee, Huai Dessom star. Director Apichatpong Weerasethakul's film "Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives" has won the coveted Palme d'Or for best picture at the Cannes film festival 2010.
