Soul Kitchen

Hoping to revamp his shabby Hamburg diner, owner Zinos Kazantsakis (Adam Bousdoukos) hires a gourmet chef, only to drive away his regular patrons. To make matters worse, Zinos' girlfriend moves to China, his criminal brother asks for a job, and a tax collector comes knocking. But when, by chance, a dance school opens nearby, Zinos gets some new clientele - and a shot at redemption. Directed by the acclaimed Fatih Akin ('Head-On', 'The Edge of Heaven'), this charming and heartfelt German comedy, set to an infectious soul and funk soundtrack, won two prizes at the 2009 Venice Film Festival. Moritz Bleibtreu, Birol Unel co-star.
