Hussy

Helen Mirren gives a smoldering performance as Beaty, a beautiful woman who works as a hostess and prostitute in a posh London nightclub while trying to escape her vicious ex-husband and raise her young son. Desperation and fear turns to attraction when Beaty meets Emory (John Shea), a mysterious American also working at the club. Her relationship with Emory becomes the spark in Beaty's life, but Emory has baggage of his own and soon they are both drawn deeper into a dangerous world of crime, drugs and violence from which there may be no escape. A gritty English independent film in the tradition of 'The Long Good Friday' and 'Mona Lisa', 'Hussy' explores the darker side of the hedonistic 80s where behind the glitz and glamour, everything has a price.
