The Ghost Writer
Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan star in this thriller that was co-written and directed by Roman Polanski. The film is based on Robert Harris' novel The Ghost. The protagonist is a ghostwriter (McGregor) hired to do a rewrite of the memoirs of Adam Lang (Brosnan), a former British prime minister. Lang, holed up in Massachusetts, is accused of crimes against humanity, and the ghostwriter's predecessor mysteriously drowned. With Lang are his wife (Olivia Williams) and an aide (Kim Cattrall) who may be his lover. Supporting actors include Tom Wilkinson and Eli Wallach.
