Based on the shocking events of the 1937 Nanjing Massacre, this German-French-Chinese historical drama tells the story of German businessman John Rabe (Ulrich Tukur), who becomes instrumental in saving the lives of over 200,000 Chinese civilians from atrocities committed by the invading Japanese army. What begins as a small effort to ensure a safety zone for civilians becomes a life-and-death struggle as Rabe grows horrified by the invasion's brutality. Daniel Bruhl, Steve Buscemi co-star.
