Martin Scorsese is generally acknowledged as the greatest American filmmaker of his generation. One of the first directors of the so-called Film School generation, Scorsese made his mark with New York-based Italian Catholic narratives, achieving critical and commercial success with 'Mean Streets', 'Raging Bull' and 'Goodfellas', among others. But it was only in 2007 that Scorsese was recognized with his first Oscar for 'The Departed'. Collected here are three of Scorsese's early short films and documentaries: What's a Nice Girl Like You Doing in a Place Like This? (1963) It's Not Just You, Murray (1964) The Big Shave(1967) Italianamerican (1974) American Boy: A Profile of Steven Prince (1978)
