Apocalypse Now ( Blu-ray )

Francis Ford Coppola directed, produced, and co-wrote this masterful Vietnam War-updating of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness." The film chronicles the harrowing journey of Army officer Captain Benjamin Willard (Martin Sheen), sent on a dangerous mission to Cambodia to terminate renegade Special Forces colonel Walter Kurtz (Marlon Brando), who now commands a legion of native troops from his jungle fortress. This blu-ray edition contains both the original 1979 theatrical release, "Apocalypse Now" (147 mins), and the 2001 reissue, "Apocalypse Now Redux" (196 mins), an expanded and re-edited version that contains footage excised from the film's original release.
