The Raid
A.k.a. "The Raid: Redemption". Innovative martial arts action marks this Indonesian thriller about a young SWAT recruit (Iko Uwais) fighting to stay alive when his team infiltrates a Jakarta tenement building occupied by a vicious gang of drug dealers. After the good guys' secret raid is discovered by the thugs, explosive (and elaborately choreographed) mayhem ensues as the heroic father-to-be wields lethal weapons against his death-dealing enemies. Written and directed by Welsh born Gareth Evans ("Merantau").
