A documentary charting the life and work of Diana Vreeland, the influential fashion editor, who, after 25 years at Harper's Bazaar magazine, transformed Vogue when she was appointed editor-in-chief in 1963. Drawing on a collage of archive footage, interviews, photography, graphics and animation, the film traces Vreeland's colourful life from her difficult childhood and early academic failures through to her triumphant reinvention of herself as an iconic figure in the world of fashion and popular culture. Director Lisa Immordino Vreeland, who is Diana Vreeland's granddaughter-in-law, was given access to hundreds of hours of home movies, family photographs and other personal documents.
