Matt Damon and John Krasinski co-wrote and star in director Gus Van Sant's timely drama that deals with fracking, a controversial method by which natural gas is extracted from the ground. An energy company employee (Damon) tries to convince the residents of a financially troubled Pennsylvania town to allow him to drill for gas but faces opposition from an environmentalist (Krasinski) who organizes a grassroots campaign to stop him.
