Fruitvale Station

The senseless, unwarranted shooting of 22-year old Oscar Grant by police officers at the Fruitvale BART station reinvigorated a debate on prejudice and a call for civil rights that lead to violent protests in the aftermath. This gripping true story of one young man's last day of his life is produced by Forest Whitaker and took home two awards at 2013 Sundance festival. Oscar, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident wakes up on the morning of December 31, 2008 and feels something in the air.
