Knightriders is the story of a troupe of motorcyclists who are members of a travelling renaissance faire. They move from town to town, staging jousting tournaments with combatants in suits of armour, wielding lances, battle-axes, maces and broadswords. The spectacle of this magnificent pageant soon garners national attention and the knights soon find difficulty in maintaining their fairy-tale existence in a world fraught with corruption. The film is a change of pace for Romero, known primarily for horror films. Look for the cameo by Stephen King as the "Loudmouth Spectator."
