A Hologram for the King

Alan (Tom Hanks) is a failing businessman, husband, and father to beloved daughter Ruby (Jane Perry). Unable to pull out of a depressive tailspin, Alan looks to a unique professional mission to help provide direction to his life, sent to Saudi Arabia to sell the king on a holographic communications system to help bring a vision for an opulent desert community to life. Unable to conquer jet lag, Alan requires a driver to his remote location, teaming with Yousef (Alexander Black), an affable local man, to help navigate local customs. Unable to find satisfaction with the hazy details of the kings arrival, Alan finds distractions that pull him deeper into the region, faced with interest from Danish worker Hanne (Sidse Babett Knudsen) and the soothing presence of Dr. Hakem (Sarita Choudhury), who helps the visitor deal with his anxiety issues and a large cyst on his back.
