After celebrating her birthday with classmates, Claire (Haley Lu Richardson) is kidnapped along with Marcia (Jessica Sula) and Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy), dragged into the basement lair of Dennis (James McAvoy), the most violent personality inside a man with 22 other people living inside him. Trapped in a room, Casey takes the lead with Dennis, recognizing the flexibility of his Dissociative Identity Disorder, hoping to connect to his many personas, including Hedwig, a nine-year-old boy. Unaware of whats going on with Dennis, therapist Karen (a sensational Betty Buckley) deals with harmless fashion designer Barry, trying to dig into his cries for help, encountering a promise for a 24th personality known as The Beast, whos out for blood. As the clock ticks down to the macabre awakening, Casey hunts for an escape, finding her gamesmanship matched by Denniss mental crew, The Horde.
