At the age of 34, Steve Gleason, former NFL defensive back and New Orleans hero, was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a rare incurable autoimmune condition, sometimes known as Lou Gehrig's disease). Doctors gave him two to five years to live. Just a few weeks after being diagnosed, Gleason learned that his wife was expecting their first child. In response, Steve made a video journal for his unborn son. The project expanded into a full-length documentary covering five years of his journey with ALS, showing his adventures as he chooses to live life to its fullest.
