Spencer Tracy Box Set. 'Captains Courageous' (1937) - In this adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic, wealthy 10-year-old Harvey Cheyne (Freddie Bartholomew) is picked up by a fishing schooner at sea, where he's transformed from a spoiled whiner into an honourable young man by humble fisherman Manuel (Tracy). 'Boys Town' (1938) - "There is no bad boy", insists Father Edward Flanagan (Tracy), who puts his life where his faith is and starts a boys' home that becomes a model of hope. Brash troublemaker Whitey Marsh (Mickey Rooney) puts that credo to the test in this compelling Oscar winner. 'Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' (1941) - One man is a paragon of virtue, the other a murderous creature of the London night. They are the same person. This version of Robert Louis Stevenson's tale includes a dreamscape in which horses whipped by Hyde (Tracy) transform into the women in his life (Ingrid Bergman and Lana Turner). 'Bad Day at Black Rock' (1954) - Tracy plays WWII veteran John J. Macreedy, a mysterious, one-armed stranger who has come to Black Rock, where he's confronted with threats and violence. Director John Sturges builds tension as Macreedy's mission and the town's grim secret are revealed.
