Drums Across the River

All the gold in a small Colorado town has been panned, save for a bit that sits on land belonging to the Ute people. Greedy Frank Walker (Lyle Bettger) rounds up the locals and makes plans to raid the Ute territory, but even-tempered settler Sam Brannon (Walter Brennan) tries to dissuade Walker from launching the attack. The battle nears, and Sam's conflicted son, Gary (Audie Murphy), is torn between his belief in his father's morality and his hatred of the Utes, who killed his mother.
