Maudie
In 1930s Nova Scotia, arthritic but free-spirited Maud Dowley (Sally Hawkins) sought to escape her repressive family and took a job as housekeeper for misanthropic fish peddler Everett Lewis (Ethan Hawke). Her soon-charmed employer married her, and encouraged her love of expression through painting...and her work would bring her late-life acclaim as one of Canadas most beloved folk artists. Touching biographical effort also stars Kari Matchett, Zachary Bennett, Gabrielle Rose.
