The Long Hot Summer

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward first met while making this adaptation of several William Faulkner stories. Newman is the wanderer who takes a job on patriarch Orson Welles' spread and attracts the attention of Welles' daughter, Woodward. Sprawling drama of love in the Deep South also stars Anthony Franciosa, Angela Lansbury, Lee Remick.
