Love is a Many-Splendored Thing

Nicely mounted film set in Hong Kong at the time of the Korean War. Jennifer Jones is a Eurasian doctor who falls in love with war correspondent William Holden. Hollywood could bare a controversial cross-cultural romance, but only if there were dire consequences. Jones and Holden famously did not get along on-set. The mythology has it that Jones chewed garlic cloves before her love scenes!
