The Naked Gun
A short-lived tv series ('Police Squad') was the inspiration for this box-office bonanza from the same guys who gave the world 'Flying High'. Leslie Nielsen reprises his role as Lt. Frank Drebin, a dim witted but very successful L.A. cop. His latest assignment is to safeguard the Queen of England, but that is not as important as the non-stop puns, in-jokes, rude noises, and just plain silliness that fill the screen. With O.J. Simpson, Priscilla Presley, Ricardo Montalban and a host of cameo appearances. Followed by 'The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear' and 'Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult'.
