A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

This beautiful adaptation of James Joyce's autobiographical novel is a faithful portrait of the young author and his coming of age. Stephen Dedalus is a young Irish Catholic growing up in the early part of the 20th century. His upbringing, his confrontation with the tyranny of the church, his sexual guilt and frustration, combine to start him on the path of rebellion. Superb performances by Bosco Hogan, TP McKenna and John Gielgud.
