Silent Movie

Mel Brooks' romp about director Mel Funn, a washed up alcoholic whose comeback is hinged on his ability to solicit stars Paul Newman, Liza Minnelli and Burt Reynolds (among others)to appear in a blockbuster silent film. Brooks' alternate send-up/homage of the silent film generation is embellished with comedic undercurrents from Brooks' regulars Dom Deluise and Marty Feldman.
