The Thing Called Love

River Phoenix plays his last leading role (some say operating from the twilight zone) in this enjoyable romantic fable centering on four twenty-somethings trying to break into the country and western music scene in Nashville. Also stars Samantha Mathis as the earnest Miranda Presley (no relation), Sandra Bullock as the pretty but untalented Linda Lue and Dermot Mulroney as the prolific and sweet Kyle.
