Kamikaze Taxi

Part crime thriller, part road movie and part social polemic, writer/director Masato Harada's drama follows Yakuza underling Tatsuo (Kazuya Takahashi), who, after his prostitute girlfriend is killed after a "date" with a violent and powerful politician, sets out on a doomed vengeance run against his bosses. Tatsuo's sole ally in his campaign is Kantake (Koji Yakusho), a South American-born cabbie coping with prejudice from his native-born fellow Japanese. "Best of the Fest" finalist at the Melbourne International Film Festival.
