The Black Hole

The Disney studio's foray into big budget science-fiction came in the wake of 'Star Wars' with this ambitious undertaking that, despite excellent effects, misses the mark due to the juvenile quotient that shares screen time with the film's grander themes. The story involves a crew in space that discover a long lost scientist whose ship is perched on the edge of a black hole and who is determined to travel through it. With Maximilian Schell, Anthony Perkins, Robert Forster and Yvette Mimieux.
