The Fallen Idol

A perfect example of the respectable quality film which achieved its apotheosis in the late '40s Britain. Tasteful, carefully crafted and restrained. The idol is a servant to a young boy in whose eyes the servant can do no wrong, despite being suspected of murder. Ralph Richardson and Michele Morgan star in this thriller from writer Graham Greene and director Carol Reed.
