The Seven Year Itch
While Hollywood censors carefully watched the filming of this notoriously racy production, Marilyn was pure perfection as a sexy, yet innocent, starlet living upstairs from a married man who has just sent his wife and son away for the summer. Based on a play by George Axelrod with Tom Ewell reprising his Broadway role. Wilder originally wanted to cast Walter Matthau, but the studio were unwilling to take a risk on the then-unknown actor.
